How to teach your dog Place
A destination for the doorbell, instead of the door.
The steps

Put a mat down. Pay any interest in it at all, even a glance.

Pay each paw that lands on the mat, one paw at a time.

Wait for all four paws before paying. Say nothing while you wait.
- 4
Add the word, then walk away and come back to pay.
- 5
Ring your own doorbell, and pay the mat instead of the door.
